Have you ever fallen asleep on the tube and been woken by the tube driver at the end of line? I managed to do just that last night.
Coming home from a work night out, I caught the District Line from Wimbledon but on the way fell asleep and was nudged awake by the driver at High Street Kensington. In my ‘I’ve too many beers‘ state I decided I’d just get on the train on the other platform regardless. I didn’t look where it was heading or if it was even still running. It was 1am after all but I figured as the doors were open it was. Luckily it was headed west and towards Hammersmith. I’ve vague memories of walking home after that and eating Maltesers in bed before crashing out!
It could have been so much worse had the train gone east…

Currently in Gibraltar on day 1 of my trip. I’m sitting where else but a pub called the Star Bar with a Heineken and have just polished off a Burrito.
On first impressions, Gibraltar is a surreal version of England. It’s pretty well the same in terms of shops and people, only it’s sunny and with Spaniards and Arab types about.
Tomorrow I’ll see if I can find a dive shop I’ve seen a flyer for and book for the next day before heading up the Rock, camera at the ready…

Sitting in The Old Retreat in Oxford watching the Ashes 2nd test with England in for their 2nd innings. It’s a pleasant day to have speant wandering the town and I managed a few random snaps, though not many.
I’ll be on the train soon heading back to London and I’ll post some photos up on Flickr as soon as the net is up and running again.

What a weekend. It all started Friday night with a few drinks with friends, my cousin, a sexy French girl and some random, overly attentive and bothersome Asian girls.
Saturday started with a BBQ at a mates place, a few birthday drinks in Wandsworth and then on to a night of fun including trying to contain the activities of a drunken mate, a pub fight, an argument with a sexy French girl and then a night of debate amongst friends.
Sunday was a lazy uneventful day consisting of making up with a sexy French girl, watching movies, playing on my Playstation 3 and thinking of attempting some design work.
Monday was spent sleeping in till 11am, playing Playstation 3, watching movies and now I’m sitting in a pub waiting for a sexy French girl to arrive.
Tomorrow is back to work and the start of the lead up to another BBQ filled weekend. Good times.

I’m just sitting here at the Goldhawk almost in the sun waiting for my cousin and his wife to arrive from Aus.
It’s a relatively warm and sunny day and I’ve just been out and about getting a few things done. I’ve finally unpacked and put away the final bits and pieces from my move.
My friends are being lame so we’ll see whether or not they come out today.

It’s my last night in Vietnam. Currently in Saigon at an Aussie pub by the name of Blue Geckos.
It’s 5:22pm and I’ve just come from a ‘Texan’ themed bar round the corner. Of course the Aussie themed bar is far cooler, they even have live rugby on, Brumbies V Bulls.
Today I went to see the ‘Reunification Palace’ or Independence Palace as it was formerly known before the commies got a hold of it. Then onto the war museum for some one-sided coverage.
Apart from the days events, my thighs are sore from yesterdays 3 1/2 hours on the back of a bike to Cu Chi for some VC tunnel fun and gun shooting action. I fired an M16 and an M60. Fantastic fun! I hit the target with both guns which must have been at least 50m away. Take that donkey!
Could be a big night, depending on who I meet. Either way, I don’t fly out till 3pm tomorrow so plenty of recovery time if needed…

It’s 7:29am and I’m sitting in the pub at Heathrow eating baked beans on toast and drinking an orange juice. I’m tired, a little sick from my developing cold and just want to get on the plane to catch some sleep.
Berlin will be awesome, just need sleep.

On Monday night just gone, a mate from work and I headed to the Slug at Fulham to celebrate Australia Day. The place was heaving as though it were a Friday night. It was full of Australians plus at least one token Kiwi.
When you head to a bar from work and everyone in the place is clearly very drunk having been there all day, it’s a site to behold. So in our work kit feeling very out of place we headed straight to the bar and ordered two snakies. Down they went, another two were ordered and down they went. By now a girl had attatched herself to me while my mate and I were chatting to a group of people who had plainly been there a while.
Origin highlights were on the tellies as well as the AFL. Before long we were on jugs of the red ale and it was 1am. Time to go home.
It was a random Aussie Day, not the best one ever in London but still a good bit of fun.
It’s good to see that the national character is alive and well. We’re an unrefined bunch of bogans, but at least we’re unpretentious, friendly and fun. Take that England.

In your typical London pub on a typical Tuesday evening after work I sit drinking a lager.
In recent months I have become more and more English in my ways.
To be fair, I’ve not had many lagers of late as I’ve been drinking ale. Sneck Lifters, Bombardiers, London Pride and Guinness even. I enjoy the relaxation after work, the solitude, the atmosphere.
Will I ever go home to Oz? Probably. Well yes actually. But when… It’ll certainly take some adjusting.
