This Saturday is Anzac Day and a mate from work and I are off to the Australian War Memorial at Hyde Park Corner for the dawn service. Then onward to the Slug for a couple of bevies and a live game of AFL before heading to a park with the footy for a good old kick and pass around. Maybe there’ll be room for a bit of two-up.

Also on Saturday my cousin from Aus and his wife are coming over to stay for a bit before heading off to Europe for a stint of travelling fun. Good times.

Oh… and apparently it’s St George’s Day today. You wouldn’t know it.

Anzac Day 2008, the 93rd anniversary. Four years ago I went to Turkey to experience the 89th anniversary Anzac Day dawn service at Anzac Cove and it was one of the best days/early mornings of my life. The whole experience makes you feel so proud to be Australian and it’s a reminder that we really are lucky to come from the greatest country on Earth.

So in honour of those Anzacs now and then, thank you.
